Dear Dave:
\J We have put into operation a new version of the news service program
that allows arbitrary key words and can store news for how ever much time we
can afford the disk files. This version is still undergoing modification to
add features and make it more convenient to use. I think we can finish the present
modification cycle and get out a manual and report on what we have done by the
end of August or at the latest, September 15.
If we want to implement keeping a year or so of news in a reliable way,
we certainly would need more file space and we should probably connect another
computer to the wire in order not to lose news from computer down time. We will
discuss the possibilities for this in our report.\.

John McCarthy
